Storm & Ground is an information site for Oklahoma homeowners planning a storm shelter or dealing with a foundation problem. It publishes local rules, county soil and tornado data, and price ranges from published lists and guides. It also passes quote requests to independent local installers and repair companies that serve the homeowner’s area.

What we do

  • Publish pages on shelter types, foundation problems, prices, and city and county rules, each with its sources and the date they were checked.
  • Accept quote requests through the form on the site. We pass them to a local installer or repair company that works in your area.

What we do not do

  • Storm & Ground does not install storm shelters, repair foundations or inspect homes. It does not employ installers or repair crews.
  • The price, scope, schedule and any warranty come from the company you choose. Any agreement is between you and that company. Storm & Ground is not a party to it and does not give warranties on anyone’s work.
  • We do not certify shelters or companies. Oklahoma does not issue a state license specifically for storm-shelter installation or foundation repair. Cities can set their own contractor and permit rules, so ask the company which local license and permit apply to your job.

How the pages are written

Pages are built from public sources: federal datasets, city and state websites, and published price lists and cost guides. Each page lists its sources with the date each was checked. Details are on the sources and methodology page. What happens to a quote request is on how it works.
